Destination: Nepal

The oldest Hindu kingdom is truly an amazing experience. The call of ancient Hindu Temples that exist side by side with timeless Buddhist culture, this country has attracted pilgrims and travelers for centuries. Idols of Hindu Gods with Buddhist influences demonstrate the melding of ancient cultures in a way not seen elsewhere.

OUR travels

Tradition

Be prepared for the city and the mountains - the difference is huge and you must do both. Amber has been going to Nepal since the 70's and we have seen it change dramatically. As new areas have opened up, so have the range of experiences. The blend of Hinduism and Buddhism is evident in the temples and monasteries. The country is so varied, from the might of the Himalayas to the busy city of Kathmandu and then the lush forests of Chitwan where the one horned Rhino has thrived under community based protection. Short flights are the way to go here as driving can be long and ardous.

Tips & Suggestions

  • Be prepared for congestion, crowds and humanity in the cities and beauty in the rustic mountainside.
  • The temples have rituals that don’t allow tourists- observe the intensity from your special perch.
  • Definitely do Kathmandu and then contrast it with an amazing 2-3 night trek
